LOWER DANUBE. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 16.95 g, 6 h), imitating Philip III of Macedon. Celticized head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΙΛΣIΛΣ / ΛΛΙΠΙΠΙΠΟ Celticized Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; below throne, 𐤆; to left, two monograms. Dembski 1468. Flesche 740 var. Lanz 899. OTA 579/9. Struck in high relief and with spectacular old collection toning. Minor die break on the obverse and with faint cleaning scratches on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
